On August 17 when Jesus was crucified and buried, the sun set at 18:21 or 06:21pm. On the other hand, on August 21 when Mary Magdalene discovered the tomb empty, the sun rose at 05:08 or 05:08am. The civil twilight began at 04:42 or 04:42am. So Mary Magdalene was in the tomb between 04:42am and 05:08am.

The Sabbath of the followers of Jesus was Sunday, a market day in Jerusalem. After their Sabbath when the sun has set at 06:17pm, they had about 25 minutes to buy the sweet spices at the market place (Mark 16:1). They were able to do so, that is why the following morning, even before the sun rose and before the market opened, they had already the sweet spices that they would use to anoint Jesus.
